AI and recording rules
Transcription and summary only for a recording you expressly confirm.
Updated 3 November 2026
One recording, one choice
Recording, saving and playback alone do not require AI. For AI, sign in with Apple, open a recording’s detail and confirm transcription and summary. Without confirmation, the recording is not sent for AI; there is no automatic AI for new recordings here. Capacity or usage limits may restrict processing. Audio is not automatically resent after an error.
Before confirming, choose your outputs: a brief summary, key points, decisions, tasks and deadlines, and open questions. A transcript is always created. Selecting options sends nothing; one confirmation applies to this recording, the selected outputs and the Overview language. By default, the Overview and automatic title use the recording’s main language; you can choose another Overview language independently of the app language, while the transcript stays in the original language. Accuracy varies with the language and audio quality; always check the result. Missing deadlines and assignees should be marked as not stated. Earlier outputs and your edits are preserved.
An already confirmed request can continue after you leave the detail or app only within the allowance provided by iOS. The system may stop background work; completion after a connection failure or force-quit is not guaranteed. The unfinished request status is recorded locally. If the result is uncertain, the audio is not automatically uploaded again and a new attempt requires another confirmation. Background continuation does not change the providers or the server content-storage rules stated here.
Where content goes
Audio passes through BOXLET’s Railway server to OpenAI for transcription; transcript text is used for summarisation. Results return to the recording in the app. The application server does not persist audio or text in files or a database; technical metadata are recorded separately. This does not mean providers retain nothing. Their rules vary by service and configuration; saypouch does not promise an active Zero Data Retention regime. See OpenAI’s data documentation.
People and results
Record and send only with the necessary authorisation, especially at work or when others’ data are involved. AI may make mistakes, miss context or summarise incorrectly. Compare results with the audio before using them; they are not an expert assessment or an automated decision about a person. You manage your own notes and original audio in the app.
